Albums To Listen To This Month

Indie-pop

Indie lovers, Hovvdy’s new album Heavy Lifter is about growing up and reminiscing. For those of you that don’t know the duo (Charlie Martin and Will Taylor), this is their third album and they have tried to switch-up their style for a fresh perspective. Fortunately, it has paid off; with its sleepy harmonies and acoustic guitars giving it a definite chill vibe.

For those that like a bit more of a playful, heavy album; Foals highly anticipated follow up album Everything Not Saved Will Be Lost: Part 2 is the one for you. While Part 1 was more sombre, Part 2 gives the fans that were lovers of the band’s more aggressive beats what they want. As an album, it contains some impressive and empowering lyrics accompanied by some predicted exciting instrumentals.

The Art of the Piano Duo presents renowned pianists Kenny Barron and Mulgrew Miller’s live performances from an array of locations and has combined them into one album. Jazz lovers, this is an album worth a listen: it’s got fast, it’s got slow, and it’s brilliant.

Dance/Electronic

Felix Clary AKA Ross from Friends has released a new EP: Epiphany. While not a full album, the 3 songs are all you need. They represent some form of imaginary world, which is certainly appealing when dancing in a dark club and the only guidance to create a happy surrounding is the music. These weird and wonderful tracks incorporate techno, disco and dance in an organised flow.
